Probably the simplest test for water in a fuel.
Water in fuel tanks costs the plant hire industry a significant sum of money every year. And yet there has never been a simple way to check the tank.
UNTIL NOW
We have developed a chemical strip which turns white in colour when exposed to water in fuel. The strip slots into our bar, is then inserted into the fuel tank and left for 1 to 5 minutes. Even if the water is emulsified into the fuel, the strip will react to the water content.
- No second guessing anymore
- Very fast to test for water in fuel
- Use as proof with your customers
Water in itself is bad news because it can cause serious damage to an engine fuel system, particularly modern common rail types. However water is also the breeding ground for ‘diesel bug’, an organism which feeds on diesel and makes its habitat in the water in fuel. Diesel bug appears in engine filters as a slimy sticky substance which can instantly smother a filter and stop fuel flow. So the removal of water from your fuel tanks has a twofold importance. The above picture illustrates a chemical strip that was subjected to water in a fuel tank. The brown part of the strip is the normal colour and the white part is the part that has reacted to water. It is clear to see that 2”to 3” of water was seen in the tank.
This kit includes:
